In India, more than around 135 million individuals were affected by obesity. Obesity means gaining excessive body weight. It refers to a medical condition in which a person gains excess body weight which further has negative effects on the person’s health, 1 out of every 5 adults in India is overweight. If you are eating more and more and you don’t exercise at all, then there are chances that you may get obese. Sometimes, it is also because of genetic susceptibility. Stop being a lazy person, get up, dress up and hit the gym.

  • Inability to cope with sudden physical activity

  • Fatty Foods - cheese, full-fat milk or yogurt, butter and oily foods
  • Canned foods- as they contain extra sugar
  • Salted foods- like peanuts, pistachios, and fries
  • Refined grains- like white flour, white bread, white pasta
  • Red meats- like pork and lamb
  • Processed meat- like ham, bacon, sausage and salami
  • Frequent and over-eating
  • Eating at restaurants and cafes as food cooked here has added preservatives and larger portions.


You should eat healthy foods like the following points:
  • Whole grains like ragi, bajra, maize, jowar, millets and red or brown rice.
  • Whole pulses like chana dal and rajma
  • Lean meat like fish and chicken
  • Lots of vegetables
  • Whole fruits and not fruit juices
